What exactly is Spiritual Direction and how might I benefit from it?

At Magdala House, we understand spiritual direction as a relationship where a spiritual director is called and committed to accompany another to discover and respond to God’s Presence in his or her life. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the director and directee work together through evocative questioning and active listening to recognize and respond to experiences of God.

Spiritual accompaniment can be helpful for anyone seriously desiring to be closer to God. Often it is through life struggles, times of uncertainty, and the need for discernment that we yearn for someone to journey with us.
